Cancer risk in individuals with major birth defects: large Nordic population based case-control study among children, adolescents, and adults

  • The reported excess risk of cancer in children with birth defects varies by type of anomaly. A population based nested case-control study was carried out using health registries in Denmark, Finland, Norway, and Sweden to determine the relative risk of cancer in relation to major birth defects.
