• The Home Office has announced plans to test the EU Settlement Scheme with all health and social care workers from 26 November 2018. This means EU citizens working in the health or care sector will have early access to the scheme, before it is rolled out more widely in 2019. 
• Employers will be working with the Department of Health and Social Care and the Home Office to produce and disseminate communication materials that will help you best support your colleagues who need to register for the scheme.

• NHS staff in the North West of England will be taking part in a Home Office pilot of the new application process for the EU Settlement Scheme.
• Health and care professionals working at 12 NHS Trusts will be invited to make applications for settled status through the new digital process.
• The pilot scheme:
• will begin on 28 August.
• will be accessible by invite only,  withup to 4,000 applicants able to apply on a voluntary basis.
• Assuming they are eligible, all applicants who go through the process will be granted either settled or pre-settled status.
• Applicants will need to attend an appointment with a Home Office representative who will help to take them through the online application process.

• The employer toolkit equips employers with the right tools and information to support EU citizens and their families to apply to the EU Settlement Scheme.
• The Scheme will be phased in later in 2018 and will gradually open more widely until it is fully open by the end of March 2019. Those who are resident by 31 December 2020 will have until 30 June 2021 to make an application. Rights will remain unchanged until then, provided that people were resident in the UK by 31 December 2020.

C3 Cloud: A Personalised Care Plan Development Platform

EU Digital Single Market project, 19 March 2018

• The C3-Cloud project will establish an ICT infrastructure facilitating a Personalised Care Plan Development Platform to enable continuous coordination of patient-centred care activities by a multidisciplinary care team or informal care givers.
• The platform will allow collaborative creation and execution of personalised care plans for multi-morbid patients through systematic and semi-automatic reconciliation of clinical guidelines. This will be achieved with the help of Decision Support Modules for risk prediction and stratification, recommendation reconciliation, poly-pharmacy management and goal setting.
• Pilot studies will focus on diabetes, heart failure, renal failure, depression in different comorbidity combinations in order to demonstrate the feasibility of the project.

• 370 participants attended the 6th Conference of Partners of the European Innovation Partnership on Active and Health Ageing (EIP on AHA) held on 27 and 28 February 2018.
• The EIP-AHA partners discussed how to align themselves to the actions of the Digital Single Market and the future Commission Communication on Digital Transformation of Health and Care. The programme included sessions that reflected the priorities of the upcoming Communication of the Commission on the future of digital health and care.
